CzechLovers.com is an online porn diary of two young lovers in The Czech Republic. The site is visually appealing and convincing in its mission to depict the lives of two lovers with a high quality camera, a healthy sex life and some wicked Photoshop skillz. With candor and honesty, our hosts Michelle and Martin guide us through their sexcapades together. They’re photographed by a friend, presumably, or a professional photographer. The quality of the shots is fairly high in my opinion, capturing what oftentimes is a first-person view of lovemaking. It doesn’t look like porn-porn as we know it, though. Roughly half the shots are digitally altered, usually in an artistic way. Some color tinting, some sepia toned images, and some nifty photographic effects are interspersed throughout the site and photosets, creating more an experience of browsing through a sex museum dedicated to these two lovers. It’s nicely executed, artistically. CzechLovers.com is less of a pornographic experience than a tour of a couple’s emotions and visual experiences during their lovemaking. It’s unique and fresh in this way, and offers members a different way of appreciating sexually explicit photography. While there are sections resembling “conventional porn sites,” the overall experience is more of a mental trip or a psychological tour of emotions. Some of the nifty offerings are custom wallpapers, all very artistic. Also, the popup image viewer features a slide show feature. Unfortunately you have no control over the speed of the slides, assuming you’d want to either speed them up or slow them down. I do have some gripes though, that might deter some visitors from sticking around. The options for downloading photos are fairly limited. When you wish to save a single file, you’re unable to since they only offer the photosets one shot at a time, without a decent thumbnails page and only a ‘next, end, previous, beginning’ type of thing. If you wish to download even one picture, you have to download the entire photoset as a zip file. For some this might be good, but for others (like me) this is an annoyance. Hopefully CzechLovers.com will alter this functionality, as it’s somewhat aggravating to surfers used to certain features in a website. One thing that to me, at least, is somewhat endearing is the authenticity of the site. These two really ARE from the Czech Republic, as can be evidenced almost immediately from their weak grasp of the English language. I, for one, enjoy this, as it adds an endearing aspect to the reality of what we’re seeing. These really are just two people with a passion for each other, good photography, and sharing their love with the world at large. I commend them for this effort, and take a hint from them that having a vision of a finished product can (and should) be realized to fulfillment. Kudos to Michelle and Martin for making their dream come true. I find the site very couples-friendly, and would recommend it to in-love, bona fide couples as a way to enjoy some unique, high-quality erotic photography with a personal twist. The European flavor of the site, and it’s slick, glossy presentation, make for a unique approach to the often-worn-out “adult paysite” genre. |
CzechLovers.com is a brand new site on the ‘net, claiming to be run by Michelle and Martin, a real couple from Prague. They tell us that Czech Lovers is “For Gently People.” Since Alain and I are all about real-couple sex, it was a pleasure to receive a request to review their site. Czech Lovers features clear, crisp photography throughout. Some of it is hardcore boy/girl, some is solo, and some is an interesting mix of very artsy, heavily Photoshopped photography. The landing page displays the latest updates. Based on the dates, Czech Lovers updates about every 10 days to 2 weeks. Each set displays a few teaser thumbnails. Clicking on a thumb takes you to the gallery page, which is nicely displayed so you get an overall feel for the set. Each set has a personalized intro, giving you some idea about how the set came about. Inside the set, you can click on the thumbs for an 800×600 full-sized pic (though some are a small 450×600). All sets are downloadable in smaller, convenient zips with a larger 1024×768 image size. Overall quality is quite nice– good lighting, lots of creativity. Take a look, for instance, at this foot fetish rendezvous. Refreshing! Czech Lovers also includes a wallpapers section, full of naughty pics to display proudly on your desktop. They also have an “extra content” section, which I thought would display new content not seen in the regular updates. However, this section is just a sampling of random photos from existing sets that have had some Photoshop work done to them. As of this review, the site only has about 11 full photosets. What I definitely did like about Czech Lovers is this one set of Martin showing off his nubile body and uncut dong. It’s very rare to see guys on display in a porn site. I do, of course, have several complaints. First off, the site can be painfully slow. Images won’t load right away, pages get hung up… The first photo I tried to download actually froze up my computer and I had to reboot. Then, pages started opening up in new windows, out of nowhere. Finally, both Alain and I lost the ability to right click images to save individual samples for the review. Bummer. I’m sort of on the fence about Czech Lovers. I definitely like the concept. It really seems that Czech Lovers is trying to appeal to real couples, and that’s very cool. So my observations are from my female perspective of a sexually adventurous couple who have been around the block and back. While the creativity is there, the site still lacks some personality– something that makes me feel that my money’s worth it. A blog, erotic stories, a members’ forum, something. The Photoshopped images were sometimes pretty, sometimes kind of distracting. It was also confusing signing into the members’ area, as it looks exactly like the tour and I sometimes inadvertently wandered out of the members’ area as a result. And I REALLY hope they get a handle on the technical issues. Take the tour and decide for yourself. It’s only $13 for a month, so it’s not a huge blow to the bank account. I’m curious to see how the site develops over time. Good luck, Michelle and Martin!
