Let me state at the outset that Orgazmo is not a porn movie. Rather, it’s a big Hollywood spoof on porn that’s likely to make you shit yourself laughing. Over, and over, and over again. There’s a very good reason we’re reviewing a porn-themed non-porn movie. My opinion is that laughter is one of the great aphrodisiacs, and laughter about pornography can be an even greater stimulus. Watch this movie with your lover, and I guarantee you’ll find yourselves not only wanting to watch it again, but also finding the subtle humor and levity in it that makes for some great conversation-starters, most of which could lead to some steamy sex! On with the program, here. Orgazmo is the brainchild of Trey Parker and Matt Stone. If you have been living under a rock for the past few years, I’ll tell you who these two comic geniuses are: they’re the creators of South Park. If you don’t know what South Park is, well then I can’t help you much. These two guys could possibly be the funniest men in history, IMHO. This is not a subtle movie, though. It’s full of coarse humor, absurd slapstick, bad puns, and self-consciously amateurish acting. Here’s the thumbnail plot: a Mormon (Trey Parker) is doing his mission work in Los Angeles and ends up knocking on the door (to share his love of Christ) of a mansion in which a porn movie’s being filmed. The movie is called ‘Orgazmo’ and centers around a superhero who battles heinous and evil villains with his trusty sidekick, Choda Boy. His weapon of choice is the Orgazmorator, a devilishly effective device that causes its targets to have, you guessed it, an orgasm. Hard to be a bad guy when you’re blowing your load, rendering you temporarily, ecstatically, ineffective. Orgazmo is studded (pardon the pun) with porn star cameos, including starring roles for Ron Jeremy, Juli Ashton, Chasey Lain, Shayla LeVeaux, Max Hardcore, Christi Lake, Jeanna Fine and many others. It’s a veritable who’s-who of 90’s porn movies, all contributing to the multi-faceted gem of comedy that’s become one of Cecilia’s and my favorite movies. Stunt Cock! |
Is this cheating? Orgazmo isn’t a porn per se, but it’s definitely adult-oriented, and it’s chock full of cameos from well-known porn actors. Close enough for us! Orgazmo comes from the makers of South Park. Need I say more? Well, I will anyway. The story centers on Joe Young (played by Trey Parker himself), an impressionable Mormon on his mission in Hollywood. Joe goes door to door, spreading the word about the Book of Mormon. One morning, he knocks on the wrong door and finds himself fighting off bodyguards, only to get caught up in the middle of a porno shoot. His fighting skills are so good, the director takes note and offers him $20,000 to take on the lead role of his next big porn flick, Orgazmo. Joe takes the role because he’s soon to be married and his fiance wants a big wedding in the temple. Orgazmo’s character fights crime with his Orgazmerator, a funny contraption that, when you point and shoot the trigger, gives the opponent one debilitating orgasm after another. So what happens when Orgazmo ends up being the cross-over porn hit of the century, right up there with E.T. and Casablanca? And what happens when Orgazmo’s sidekick, Choda Boy, actually makes Orgazmo’s powers a reality with a real life Orgazmerator? Mayhem ensues. Orgazmo never made it big in the theaters (though I did randomly catch it when it made its brief big screen stint). But now it’s gained that cult almost-classic following that makes it a must to have in your collection. Orgazmo is full of quotable quotes that will make you a legend among your friends. So what about the porn stars? Ron Jeremy has one of the leading roles in the film. You’ll catch glimpses of Christi Lake, Barocca, Jeanna Fine, Davia Ardell, Peter Romero, Serenity, Melissa Monet . . . the list goes on. The special edition DVD has great bonus features, too, including a “documentary” on the legend of Orgazmo, plus drunken commentary from Trey Parker and Matt Stone. Though Orgazmo isn’t a “porn” porn, you’ll at least be able to buy it without your girlfriend looking at you sideways. Well, sort of. |
