Attention good readers: Marthasgirls.com is NOT a porn site. In fact, even *thinking* that this is “pornography” would be a grave offense deserving of, at the very least, a slap on the wrist. Tsk tsk!

Marthasgirls.com could be one of the greatest ART NUDES sites I have ever seen. While I have a small handful of technical gripes, I will save those for the end and keep them brief, for what I choose to focus on here is the mystical, unique, and elegantly portrayed vision of the erotic allure of women through history.

The old adage of balancing quality with quantity is well-observed here. There aren’t a gazillion pictures to look at, but there are plenty and the site updates regularly (every three days). The quality is SUPERB in my opinion.

Martha’s photography, which could easily be characterized (by me) as “neo-histo-classical-glamo-gonzo” rivals the medium’s masters, in my humble opinion. Martha’s Girls, as she calls them, are stunning, and the themes, poses, sets, costumes and presentation of her fantasy of the erotic past are perfectly captured by her lens.

Of the sites we’ve reviewed so far on CouplesReviews, I would have to say that Marthasgirls.com is the most couple-friendly site yet. There’s nothing intrusive, nothing demeaning or explicit about this site. It is 100% erotic. The photos and the women in them are truly gorgeous, and it’s very refreshing to see the obvious work, love, and care that goes into each aspect of the site.

They say that it’s the details that count, and if one takes the time to see them in Martha’s site, they’ll be impressed. Each gallery template is different, lending an aire of flipping through the dog-eared pages of a dusty family album (except all the girls are naked and hot, unlike your Aunt Beatrice).

I said I’d mention my gripes, so here they are. The navigation takes some time to get used to, and could use an update to today’s standards (maybe it’s on purpose… to stay in character with the ancient-style sepia-tone photos?).

I was looking for “Latest Updates” and couldn’t find it, so I began to think harder and saw a section called “News.” I was (pleasantly) surprised to find “Latest Updates” under “News.” A wee bit confusing for a small-brained creature like me.

The last thing I’ll bitch about is the “Send an E-Card,” which I thought was a great little tool to spread the joy around (and much there is). Much to my chagrin, I couldn’t convince it to work. Martha… gotta fix that! I have lots of friends who would really like to receive some of your photos.

Bottom Line: Marthasgirls.com is a SUPERB ARTISTIC NUDES site, featuring painstakingly and lovingly shot, historically-accurate fantasy visions of “porn from the past.”

The models are gorgeous, the photography impeccable, a sense of humor pervades the site (see the “behind the scenes” section for often-amusing outtakes), and I truly felt GOOD viewing the site. Thank you, Martha, for such a unique website.

Martha’s Girls (and its sister site, Retro Raunch) is a porn site that is very different than what you’re used to. These sites are a blast from the past, featuring vintage porn from the late 19th century all the way through the 1950s pin-up girls.

Oh wait, there’s a catch: this isn’t really vintage photography.

Buried deep in the free tour, you find out that “Martha’s Girls” are modern-day models who took vintage-looking softcore pics in celebration of old time porn.

With that detail out of the way, Marthasgirls.com is run by “Martha,” webmistress and owner. Through her groovy little history lessons, Martha acts as your guide through the different eras of porn.

Marthasgirls.com has three distinct eras: art deco, art nouveau, and pin-up girls. You’ll only find 12 girls total in the members’ area. However, almost every girl has a shitload of sets, some upwards of 30 sets.

Martha’s creativity is endless, and she shows it off by adding era-specific music that you can listen to (or not) while you browse the ladies.

There are some really interesting features here. One is that you can send e-cards of any picture in the entire site.

The other is what Martha calls her “pornfolio,” and they’re nudie pics of the Martha herself! She’s got a huge portfolio of erotic pics of herself, and it’s growing all the time. A truly creative and original addition to an already interesting site.

An added bonus– for each vintage girl, you can check out “modern-day” pics of the model. Most of the girls have several of these modern day galleries, which means more bang for your porn buck. Even better is that each model is photographed in myriad different settings, from pretty outdoor nudes, to softcore girl/girl scenes, to smoking fetish sets.

While the creativity and the originality of the site are great, there are some drawbacks. I encountered several technical problems, with both basic login problems and within the site itself– couldn’t login, e-cards feature isn’t working, etc. The responses to my emails were quick, but I’d hate to have to deal with this everyday.

Navigation is also a bit outdated, but not nearly as bad as I’ve encountered on other, bigger sites.

Keep in mind that Martha’s Girls is a softcore only site, and there aren’t any movies. The focus is on capturing the sense of an era and the pure, true beauty and complexity of the nude female form.

I’d characterize this more as erotic art than “porn.” These are the types of pictures you find in a coffee table book (and if you take that idea, Martha, I want a cut of the profits!!). And there’s a Madonna look-alike, which is cool.

I love the originality, the creativity, the amazing photography, the intelligence of thought and story. I also really dig that these women have feminine, natural curves– none of the stick figure bony types. How refreshing!

If you’re looking for art, for beauty, and for something genuinely unique, Martha’s Girls is the way to go.
